Welcome to the Crosscurrents blog!

Following the stimulating presentations and papers at the Crosscurrents Conference in Munich earlier this month, we invite you to continue the conversation online at crosscurrents08-09.blogspot.com. The Crosscurrents Conference considered the importance of ongoing dialogue in the 20th century; let us follow the example of the conference topic and see where a discourse in cyberspace might lead.

We propose two initial queries to prompt discussion:
--A lot of the papers discussed composers' travels and projects organized by individuals. How does this power of the individual at home translate to new contexts?
--what has the role of "crosscurrents" from other continents has been in the last century, and how are they emerging as creative forces in the 21st century?

Your own threads and thoughts are also welcome!
